With yesterday’s announcement, Memphians can start looking forward to the new, signature Tom Lee Park. The transformed park will be the best park on the Mississippi and will become an iconic image of Memphis, Shelby County and Tennessee. With so much excitement, it’s important to understand what happens next.

With Mayor Strickland’s announcement today of a resolution to the mediation process with Memphis in May, the final design process to turn Tom Lee Park into the signature public park on the Mississippi River can begin. The Partnership thanks Mayor Strickland and COO Doug McGowen for their leadership through this process.

River Line, the 5-mile bike/pedestrian trail connecting the riverfront from Wolf River Greenway to Big River Crossing, and River Garden, the newest and most activated park on the riverfront, are celebrating their one-year anniversary on November 9.
